Campsites are
available during Benson Mule DaysŪ at Chamber Park and on private
properties. Chamber Park is the only campsite that offers
twenty-four hour security and ample parking. The bigger
premium lots provide water and electricity while other lots only
provide water. Applications become available in May and to
have one mailed call (919) 894-3825. These lots are located
outside the perimeter of the Chamber Area.
Note: All animals attending Benson Mule DaysŪ must have Coggins
test papers available. Any animals not having been testing
will be asked to leave. It is a North Carolina state law that
equine animals have this test.
1. Private campsites within town limits require a permit that must
be obtained at the Town of Benson office at 303 E. Church St.
2. Camping at Chamber Park on Hwy 301 does not require a separate
permit from the Town.
Each individual camper will be given a copy of the
ordinances. They will be expect to abide by these ordinances
the entire "Mule Days" weekend. They will be
strictly enforced by the Benson Police, Highway Patrol, and the
Johnston County Sheriff's Department.
